Limits and quota
Plans differ only in quota, rate, concurrency and support. Every plan gets the same endpoints and data.
| Plan | Price | Lookups / month | Rate | In flight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Developer | $5/mo or $50/yr | 1,000 | 2/s | 2 |
| Starter (coming soon) | $49/mo or $490/yr | 25,000 | 5/s | 4 |
| Growth (coming soon) | $199/mo or $1,990/yr | 150,000 | 10/s | 8 |
| Scale (coming soon) | $799/mo or $7,990/yr | 1,000,000 | 25/s | 16 |
What counts
A lookup is billable when it returns a district: zoning.status of matched or multiple_districts. Everything else (not covered, no parcel, errors) is free but still rate-limited. Coverage endpoints never count.
The monthly window
- The quota resets monthly, on the day your billing period started. Annual plans still get a monthly quota.
- Every lookup response carries
X-Quota-Limit,X-Quota-RemainingandX-Quota-Reset(ISO 8601). - At the limit, lookups return
429 quota_exceededuntil the reset. There’s no paid overage yet. - Changing plans never resets usage. An upgrade adds headroom to the window you’re in.
Rate and concurrency
The rate limit allows short bursts up to twice your per-second rate. Requests beyond it, or beyond your in-flight limit, get 429 with rate_limited or concurrency_limited. Retry with backoff.
Payments
If a renewal payment fails, your organization drops to Developer limits until it’s paid. When a plan ends, keys return 402 no_api_plan.
